RSNA 2019: A stand out event thanks to a stand out team

RSNA, our flagship event, is now in the books and all I can say is that the 2019 edition certainly lived up to our very ambitious expectations.

First off, the booth itself. It was our largest to date and it was quite a sight on the show floor: we did stand out, no doubt about that. With 60+ of us basically living in the booth for 4-5 days, I must say I felt very proud of the creative yet functional space our marketing team worked so hard to create.

We had 11 demo pods this year, and we set out ambitious objectives to ensure our demo-ers would stay busy throughout the event. As is often the case these days, we went above and beyond our targets, delivering 252 demos to current and prospective clients all the while gathering client insights and input for improving our solutions and generating overall value for the company.

Our booth also included a 19-people theater, used primarily for large group demos, which we also used to host events and thought leadership talks. We were tremendously proud to host the 2nd Annual Imaging Innovation Awards, in collaboration with Radiology Business Journal. Congratulations are in order for the five recipients of the Imaging Innovation Awards this year: UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas/Parkland Health and Hospital System, Radiology Partners, Radiology Group of Abington, Integrated Imaging Consultants and the Department of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. And many thanks to our partners for taking the time to share their expertise with our team and guests for our Thought Leadership Talk series: Zebra, Envoy AI, Convergent Imaging Solutions, Densitas, Radsource and Blackford Analysis. The theater space was much appreciated and some of our partners plan on leveraging it next year to promote our combined products and services to prospective customers. An additional tool for us to add value and strengthen our partnerships.

Talking about thought leadership, I have to celebrate the endless energy demonstrated by Chris Wood, our Chief Technology Officer, who was invited to present at the RSNA Innovation theater and the Google Cloud booth. He shared his 10 predictions for artificial intelligence in radiology, painting an uplifting and exciting picture of what’s to come in the field. Indeed, Chris talked about the idea that artificial intelligence, rather than replacing radiologists, will instead improve their reading workflows, for example by avoiding false starts and pre-populating and structuring reports. AI will help them deal with the loads of data coming their way, and quantify value based metrics. In the end, AI will save radiologists time, allowing them to work more closely with referring physicians.

AI was definitely on people’s minds this year at RSNA, and we were well prepared to capture this interest with our prior announcement of Odyssey, our clinical AI trial program and Navigator, our AI workflow orchestrator. In addition, we showcased the recently announced Concierge Workflow, an intelligent workflow manager, which further boosts the efficiency of our Clario SmartWorklist and our new Imaging Connectivity Suite. The advancements on the Clario SmartWorklist linked to the rest of our solution suite certainly stole the show, and made for captive demo audiences every time.

RSNA is also an occasion for us to gather input from our customers on how to continuously improve on the user experience. Our Client Success Managers and Client Services team were on site and had the pleasure of meeting a great number of our clients to get their feedback on our current solutions, their wish lists of new functionalities and their insights on what the future may hold for them, their practice and their field.

The interest in Intelerad’s solutions was quite high and our people were ready for action, whether it was serving coffee, welcoming guest speakers, pre-qualifying clients or demonstrating our products. We brought our largest contingent to date and every single person went above and beyond to make our visitors feel special. I want to thank everyone at Intelerad for making this edition of RSNA a resounding success; it was a huge team effort and months and months of preparation. Now comes the fun part of it all, following up on all the fantastic conversations and meetings we’ve had, so we can work together on ensuring the continued success of our customers, and ours as well.

For the time being, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish my readers a most pleasant holiday season, and a standout year to you and your loved ones.

Until next time,

Paul.
