Located in Montreal East, the hospital serves over a quarter of the city\u2019s population \u2013 approximately 670,000 people. In serving such a large community, the hospital is always bustling. Each year, it admits over 22,000 patients, treats 69,000 visitors to its emergency room, performs<br \/>over 18,000 surgical procedures, and consults with over 335,000 outpatients.<\/p>\n<p>A teaching and research facility, HMR is one of Quebec\u2019s most important hospitals, providing healthcare services that range from family medicine to specialized and ultraspecialized care. The hospital also plays a major international role in certain areas of expertise, including immuno-oncology, nephrology and ophtamology. In addition, they are also recognized international leaders in stem cell therapy, for which they have their own Centre of Excellence. The hospital also provides ultra-specialized care in surgical oncology, radiation oncology, orthopedics and maxillofacial surgery, and features the province\u2019s only Centre of Excellence in nursing.<\/p>\n<header class=\"text-left  element-short-top element-short-bottom not-condensed\" data-os-animation=\"none\" data-os-animation-delay=\"0s\">\n<h3 class=\"normal bold no-bordered-header bordered-normal\">FOCUSED ON PATIENT CARE<\/h3>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\" element-short-top element-short-bottom\" data-os-animation=\"none\" data-os-animation-delay=\"0s\">\n<p>A customer-oriented institution, patient care has long been an organizational priority at HMR. For nearly 30 years, the hospital has maintained a quality management program, which today oversees more than thirty teams dedicated to the continual improvement of patient care. As a teaching hospital affiliated with Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al Faculty of Medicine, HMR also trains 65 residents per year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<header class=\"text-left  element-short-top element-short-bottom not-condensed\" data-os-animation=\"none\" data-os-animation-delay=\"0s\">\n<h3 class=\"normal bold no-bordered-header bordered-normal\">INTELERAD AT HMR<\/h3>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\" element-short-top element-medium-bottom\" data-os-animation=\"none\" data-os-animation-delay=\"0s\">\n<p>Until the early 2000s, HMR had a film-based radiology department. After testing out various PACS systems in 2003, HMR deployed IntelePACS and InteleViewer to their radiology department in 2004 and in their nuclear medicine department in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Well-liked for their ease of use, Intelerad solutions today provides HMR\u2019s radiologists with rapid access to both current and prior studies.
