Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, accounting for about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.org\/cancer\/types\/breast-cancer\/about\/how-common-is-breast-cancer.html#:~:text=50%20(1.0%25).-,Trends%20in%20breast%20cancer%20deaths,slowed%20slightly%20in%20recent%20years.\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">30% of all new female cancers each year<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. However, early detection can make a world of difference\u2014when caught in the localized stage, the 5-year survival rate is vastly improved. <\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Though breast cancer mortality is declining, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yalemedicine.org\/news\/early-onset-cancer-in-younger-people-on-the-rise#:~:text=While%20some%20cancers%20have%20been,year%20during%20that%20time%20period.\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">its incidence is increasing<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. To continue improving outcomes, mammograms and regular screenings remain our best tools to catch breast cancer before it becomes life-threatening.<\/span><\/p><h2 aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Disparities in Breast Cancer Outcomes<\/span><\/h2><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">While breast cancer death rates have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.org\/cancer\/types\/breast-cancer\/about\/how-common-is-breast-cancer.html#:~:text=50%20(1.0%25).-,Trends%20in%20breast%20cancer%20deaths,slowed%20slightly%20in%20recent%20years.\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">decreased by 42% since 1989<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, disparities remain. Non-Hispanic White women have the highest incidence rate of breast cancer, but they don\u2019t account for the most deaths. Non-Hispanic Black women face the highest mortality rates, which is why healthcare access is so important for improving outcomes. <\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This disparity shows us that even with lower incidence rates than other populations, limited access to quality care in underserved communities leads to worse outcomes. Community clinics, often overworked and covering larger patient populations, can benefit from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intelerad.com\/en\/all-products\/\">modern technological solutions<\/a> that automate or facilitate timely communication, follow-ups, analysis, and delivery of diagnostic results. By streamlining these processes, clinics can free up valuable time and resources, creating a more connected and efficient healthcare experience that can reduce breast cancer mortality rates for all.<\/span><\/p><h2 aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Prevention<\/span><\/h2><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Early detection is one of the most effective strategies in the fight against breast cancer. <\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"none\">According to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalbreastcancer.org\/early-detection-of-breast-cancer\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">American Cancer Society<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">, when breast cancer is caught in its early, localized stages, the 5-year survival rate increases to 99%. <\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Regular mammograms, breast self-exams, and clinical breast exams can help identify abnormalities before the disease progresses.
