Denver, Colorado and Montreal, Canada – November 6, 2014 – Progressive Radiology, the largest radiologist-owned and operated medical imaging practice in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area, have announced the acquisition of five Illinois-based MRI centers.

“This acquisition will allow Progressive to offer its services at a total of sixteen East Coast and Midwest imaging centers,” said Dominic Mezzanotte, Progressive Radiology’s Director of Information Systems. “The services will vary by location and include open and high field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI, MRA and MR arthrograms), low dose computed tomography (CT or CAT), ultrasound, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, DEXA scans and digital mammography.”

An Intelerad customer since 2009, the acquisition was facilitated by Intelerad’s enterprise viewing capabilities, which allowed Progressive to deploy InteleViewer™ as the diagnostic viewer for their Illinois-based centers, while centrally storing all medical images in their Maryland-based IntelePACS® system. In addition to providing an intuitive user interface for radiologists, Intelerad’s site-wide licensing of InteleViewer facilitates deployments across large multi-site imaging enterprises, as well as hospitals.

“Transitioning Progressive Radiology’s new imaging centers to IntelePACS has been almost seamless,” said Mezzanotte. “IntelePACS and InteleViewer are easy to use, so we haven’t missed a beat. In addition, our radiologists have really embraced the technology. In fact, they love it.”

Progressive Radiology’s use of Intelerad solutions supports the company’s efforts to deliver cost-effective, compassionate care to patients of all ages; provide timely, expert diagnoses to referring medical providers; and conform to the high standards for quality and safety for which the company is known.
